🔥Prescribed fires, also known as controlled burns, play a vital role in preserving our ecosystem and communities. Dense understory crowds out native plants and sequester new life, while prescribed fires regenerate life.

Laura Starkey’s dedication to sustainable land management will shine bright as she leads us through the recently burned natural areas and discusses the many benefits of prescribed fire.

🌳Jared Dorrier - US Forestry Senior Ranger and Lead Instructor of the Withlacoochee River Forest Service
Jared Dorrier is bringing his rig, gear, and over 20 years of ranger experience with him. He is a lead instructor of controlled burns within US Forestry Service and has provided his expertise at Heartwood Preserve over the years.
