Afsky is a danish black metal solo project from Copenhagen, Denmark. Mastermind Ole
Luk Ole Luk processes his impressions about everything from life and death, despair and
grief to odes for his family and loved ones and the time of past generations.
Afsky tastefully blends elements of folk, depressive, second wave and atmospheric black
metal into a soulful whole and is captivating and touching music that creates a haunting
atmosphere through melancholic acoustic elements, moody soundscapes and rich melodic
presence. It is a touching journey into light and darkness that effortlessly treats black metal
as if it is more than just a vessel for negative energies.
Yoth Iria –
Formed by Jim Mutilator (founding bassist of Rotting Christ and Varathron), Yoth Iria emerged from the depths of Hellenic black-metal tradition to redefine its legacy with renewed fire and vision. Joining him at the dawn of this new chapter was the legendary The Magus (Necromantia, Thou Art Lord, ex-Rotting Christ), whose commanding voice and occult aura helped forge the band’s early identity and sound.
Yoth Iria made their first mark in 2020 with the EP Under His Sway, a dark, majestic release that reawakened the spirit of the early ’90s Greek black-metal scene while infusing it with a modern, ritualistic essence. In 2021 Yoth Iria unleashed their debut full-length, As the Flame Withers, which was hailed worldwide as a triumphant return of the true Hellenic spirit. The album’s mix of epic melodies, occult lyricism, and spiritual intensity solidified the band’s reputation as one of the genre’s most inspired modern forces.Later, another EP, Flame of the Whirling Swords (October 2023) arrived, further expanding the band’s sonic palette. The second album, Blazing Inferno (2024, Edge Circle Productions), marked the next evolution of Yoth Iria’s sound — a blazing storm of darkness, melody and esoteric might. With songs like “We Call Upon the Elements”, “In the Tongue of Birds”, and the monumental title track “Blazing Inferno”, the band achieved new creative heights, earning critical acclaim and a devoted international following. This was followed by the stand-alone single Splendour of the Sun, released as part of the split 7″ vinyl "Infernium".
Yoth Iria’s dedication to the craft is also demonstrated by their homage to the past: the single The Wanderer (a cover version of the iconic song by Emperor) was released as a standalone single, showcasing both reverence and reinvention. On the live front, Yoth Iria captured the intensity of their stage presence with the live album "Embracing the Mexican Shadows", recorded during their Mexico City show in 2023 and released December 2023. They have shared stages and roared across continents, performing at major festivals such as Hellfest, Alcatraz, Summer Breeze and Party San Open Air. Their live schedule also includes four tours across South America and Mexico — three already completed, with the fourth scheduled for April 2026.
Looking ahead, Yoth Iria are preparing their most ambitious work to date: their upcoming full-length album, set to be released by Metal Blade Records in May 2026. With this release, the band continues their ascent toward spiritual and sonic transcendence, channeling the eternal flame that burns within the heart of Hellenic darkness. Yoth Iria stands as both a tribute to the origins of Greek black-metal and a force of relentless evolution — a union of past and future, flesh and spirit, fire and void.
