Afro-Latin Dance Evenings at Mohonk Preserve: short dance lesson and open dance — all levels are welcome!
Join instructor Nina Jirka on Wednesday evenings in June, rain or shine, for an introduction to a variety of Afro-Latin dances! You will learn how to improvise to music with a partner, and through dancing you will develop creativity, practice cooperation and find connection and joy. Each class will feature a short lesson on one type of dance, followed by an open dance session:
June 3 – Merengue
June 10 – Bachata
June 17 – Salsa
June 24 - Tango
Bring comfortable clothes and water, along with shoes that preferably have leather or suede soles. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to park and to set up so the class can start promptly at 6 p.m. Children ages 10 and up are welcome and must always be accompanied by a registered adult. Registration is required. Space is limited so register early. Registration closes at 12 pm the day before each class.
