ABOUT TATY AMPARO:
We are privileged to welcome this accomplished artist.choreographer and teacher whose artistic journey moves between stage performance, street culture and studio practice. Her work is rooted in Afro-Brazilian traditions, popular cultural expressions and the powerful aesthetics of Brazilian carnival, exploring the body as a territory of memory, identity and creation.
With training in Afro-Brazilian dance, partner dance and contemporary practices, she develops a movement language that connects tradition and contemporaneity, exploring the dialogue between musicality, theatricality and movement. Her artistic research is deeply connected to Afro-Brazilian popular cultural expressions, especially the African influences present in rhythm, dance and collective performance.
In the carnival scene of Rio de Janeiro, she works in large-scale creative processes and performances, with a strong focus on the Front Commission of samba schools. Since 2023, she has been the assistant choreographer of the Front Commission of Acadêmicos do Viradouro, the current champion of Rio’s carnival, and also works as choreographer for Unidos de Lucas.
She was also part of the dance cast of the Roxy Dinner Show, performing in the show Quem Abraço, an immersive experience combining music, dance and theater in Copacabana.
In her classes and workshops, Tatyane shares not only movement but also cultural context, musicality and history, inviting participants to experience dance as an artistic, collective and ancestral practice. Her methodology encourages participants to discover their own potential through dynamic exercises that explore the foundations of each rhythm, working with elements such as strength, choreographic construction, speed, dynamics and stage presence.
