About this Event
Join us for an evening of art, music, and celebration as we honor Women’s History Month with AfriKin: Art, Jazz, and Champagne. This annual event features an all-women art exhibition, live jazz performances, and champagne toasts to celebrate the resilience, strength, and courage of women and girls worldwide.
The fine art exhibition, titled Custos Soros, presents works by women artists from diverse backgrounds, mediums, and disciplines. These pieces reflect the artists’ personal stories of trials and triumphs, showcasing the power of creativity as a tool for advocacy, resilience, and transformation. From paintings to sculptures, multimedia to woven fibers, the artwork shares narratives of courage, strength, and hope, amplifying the call for a world free of violence and oppression against women and girls.
Curated to inspire dialogue and awareness, the exhibition highlights the power and potential of women as agents of change while reminding us of the ongoing journey toward equality and justice.
The evening will also feature a live jazz performance paying homage to the women pioneers of jazz music, including legends like Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, and contemporary innovators such as Esperanza Spalding. The performance blends classic jazz with modern sounds, embodying the elegance, strength, and innovation of women in jazz history.
Raise a glass during our champagne toasts and celebrate the artistry, resilience, and contributions of women worldwide in this vibrant and uplifting gathering.
