Join us at the University's Parkville campus to celebrate African culture through food, storytelling and performances.
About this Event

The African Studies Group, 13.12 and Chancellery, Global Culture & Engagement invite you to join us for a celebration of African culture through food, storytelling & performances.

A light dinner will be followed by a showcase of local and international artists including:

  • Lamine Sonko & guest artists from the Daniel Sorano National Theatre (Senegal)
  • Valanga Khoza (South Africa)
  • Wala (Ghana)
  • Nuba Omarng Association (Sudan)
  • Bosede & Emerging Artists (Nigeria)


Attendees are also warmly invited to attend the African Studies Group academic symposium, “African Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Ways of Knowing – A Conversation on Traditions, Modernity and the Future” which will be preceding this event at the same location from 1pm - 5pm. Registrations here.

Note that if you have already registered for the African Studies Group symposium, you do not need to register separately for this evening component.
