African Chapters Book Club
About this Event
Explore African literature, diversify your reading, and connect through meaningful conversations with fellow book lovers.
This book club was created to encourage readers to diversify their bookshelves by discovering works by African authors and to connect with others through meaningful discussions. Whether you're new to African literature or a lifelong reader, everyone is welcome.
In October, we are reading Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. The Guardian describes the book as an extremely thoughtful, subtly provocative exploration of structural inequality, various forms of oppression, gender roles, and the idea of home. Subtle, yet not afraid to pull its punches.
The book club will take place in the bookstore reading room. Please note that the reading room is accessed via a spiral staircase. If this presents an accessibility concern, please contact me at [email protected], and I will do my best to accommodate your needs.
As the reading room has limited capacity, places are limited. If you can no longer attend, please let me know at least one week in advance.
Come ready to reflect and connect with fellow book lovers in a welcoming and inclusive space.
