Program Details
During a field trip to the Aerospace Center for Excellence our highly trained STEM Educators will guide your students through an immersive, hands-on experience that consists of:

Interactive presentations
Live demonstrations
Lab activities and immersive experiments (based on grade level)
Paper Airplane Competition (hosted by Busy Bee)
Goody Bags for Students - Pilot license, Paper Airplane Supplies, and more (Provided by Busy Bee)
Field trip programs run from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm in the Skylab Innovation Center and include the Science On a Sphere Lab, the Engineering Lab, and either the Flight Simulation Lab (Grades 5th-6th) or the Florida Air Museum (grades 3rd-4th) depending upon the age of your students. After your Field Trip program concludes, free exploration of the Florida Air Museum is permitted until the museum closes at 4:00 pm.

Program 1- Moving Through Space
Location: NOAA Science on a Sphere
Grades: 3rd-6th
The motion of the stars, planets, and moon have long engaged human interest. Explore Earth’s rotation and revolution in relation to the Sun and Moon. Discover how these movements impact Moon Phases. Students recreate the journey of Curiosity on Mars using Sphero Bolts as rovers. They will learn how NASA scientists collected and analyzed data from other celestial bodies.

Program 2- Rocketing to Space
Location: Engineering
Grade Levels: 3rd -6th
Sending satellites and other vehicles into space using rockets is becoming a competitive business. Investigate the relationship between mass, force and distance as applied to space travel by manipulating straw rockets.

Program 3 (based on grade level)-
The 3rd-4th Graders' Program-- History and Future of Flight
Location- Florida Air Museum & Aviation Playground
Discover the thrilling world of aviation at the Florida Air Museum, a captivating destination that celebrates the rich history and exciting future of flight. Enjoy the vast collection of aircraft, exhibits, and interactive displays, offering an immersive experience for aviation enthusiasts of all ages. Featuring 24 interactive learning opportunities for aspiring aviators regarding the science and practice of flight, this aviation themed playground has the layout of an airport, complete with taxiways and runways. Also included is a sitting area for adults and large sun shades.

The 5th-6th Grades' Program -- Flying Fundamentals
Location- Redbird Flight Simulation Lab
Nearly 300,000 new pilots are needed worldwide over the next ten years. Through flight simulation, understand how the physics (aerodynamics) of flight works to keep an airplane flying straight and level.

Immediately Following we will continue the day at the Pavilion, where students will participate in an Paper Airplane Competition.
Also included, Pilot License, Completion Certificate, Goody Bag


Tickets --

Cost: $25 per student participant or 125 Bee Bucks
$10 per participating chaperone or 50 Bee Bucks

There are only 20 total tickets for students and 2 tickets for participating chaperones.

Please add a non-participating chaperone ticket to the order if not participating, so we can account for each child's parent or chaperone.

You are welcome to bring other guests or siblings and enjoy the Florida Air Museum. Tickets to this are sold separately at the Museum's ticket office.
