About this Event
Join Adrian DiMatteo, founder of the Sonic Institute, for a four day sound facilitation training program. This advanced immersion will include theoretical and applied training, extended practice with a wide range of instruments and a presentation on the science of sound healing and meditation. Participants will gain experience through 1–1 and group session exercises. Psychophysical yoga practices will also be offered each day.
*Participants who complete this intensive will receive the equivalent combined credits of Sound as Medicine: Mode One and Sound as Medicine: Mode Two from the Sonic Institute. There is no prerequisite for joining this course.
General schedule:
Thursday–Sunday | April 10–13 | 2025
April 10th | 6-9pm: Sound Bath and Introduction to Sound Healing and Meditation
April 11–13: 10am-6pm workshops. Lunch will be from 1:30–3pm.
We will be exploring:
The Space: creating a hygienic container for healing and meditation, ceremonial architecture, aromatherapy and multisensory considerations
Sound and Silence: cosmology, frequency theory and the nature of vibration, conscious listening
Modalities: exploring global perspectives and traditions of sound-based therapy
The Voice: understanding our first instrument and the power of the word
Instruments: hands-on training with a variety of tools and ancestral instruments used by sound facilitators
Sound and Music Theory: demystifying the language of music and systems of music theory
Harmony: mental, emotional and physical balance, healing and meditation principles
