*PREREQUISITE FOR REGULAR ATTENDANCE:

🔥To attend this class, no exceptions- you must be confident playing your zills on beat, at the very least - familiar with Classic and Modern FCBD® style vocabulary and cues, common formations e.g. duet, trio, quartet, chorus.
You will also be expected to take the lead in formations without hesitation. We look forward to dancing with you~ !

WHAT TO EXPECT:

🔥Each class will feel like a private lesson. We will be dancing, drilling, sweating, and playing with advanced FCBD® Style group improv dance concepts, critiquing your current technique/posture with love in a supportive environment.
Our goal is to execute our vocabulary of movements and cues for a fluid improvisational performance.
Expect peer-to-peer critique, self critique, and application of feedback.
We will review and drill complex formations, discuss musicality and flow, and performance presence.
Mostly having fun dancing without being in your head.
🚫We will not be exploring props, steps or formations outside of FCBD® Style related vocabulary in this class. The goal is to strengthen your foundation and build confidence in your own body and trust while dancing with others.

WHAT TO WEAR:

Wear something fitting so your posture may be seen.
Yoga pants, pantaloons, w/ a hip scarf, tassel belt, choli or tank top are fine, a 12-25 yard skirt if you have it is preferred wear in class while we explore adv. concepts.
Please wear your hair up off of your neck (bun preferred)

WHAT TO BRING:

A growth mindset.
Finger cymbals are REQUIRED when dancing to fast vocabulary.
Bring a water bottle, a notebook, and writing utensil to help retain the information you are learning.
Do not chew gum in class.

Created in the early 90's by Carolena Nericcio, director of FatChanceBellyDance® in San Francisco, California. FCBD® Style (previously called American Tribal Style®) belly dance is made of a vocabulary of movements and cues which allow for a fluid improvisational performance.
