Being a highly sensitive person means you have heightened senses and process information intuitively. This allows you to taste, hear, feel, and sense the vibrations of the world around you on a higher level than the average person.This is why being sensitive can be a gift. The downside is that being more intuitive, empathic, and sensitive means you also develop stronger than average defense and coping patterns.
Not knowing how to transform ALL the causes of hypersensitivity is why being sensitive doesn't always feel like a gift. This is why you STILL shut down, stuff feelings and feel anxious and overwhelmed by feelings and the world around you and are still a people pleaser. It is why you still judge and don't express feelings and needs, and are not creating the quality of relationships, support, and life you were born deserving.
