Advanced Gait Training for Individuals with Amputation Agenda
Info: 1PM Registration
1:30PM Welcome & Introduction: Introduction of presenters including goals and expectations, and pre test.
1:45PM: LECTURE: Strengthening for the Individual with Above the Knee Amputation
2:20PM: LAB: Demonstration and participation in strengthening techniques for individuals with above knee amputation. This includes discussion of compensatory movements which highlight muscle weakness.
2:55PM: LECTURE: Strengthening for the Individual with Below the Knee Amputation
3:30PM: LAB: Demonstration and participation in strengthening techniques for individuals with below knee amputation. This includes discussion of compensatory movements which highlight muscle weakness.
4:05-4:30 PM: LAB: Analysis of prosthetic devices and prosthetic device function in walking and running gait.
4:45PM: LAB: Walking Program: Practice walking and running gait techniques in group setting with attending individuals with amputation. Includes practice of advanced gait training techniques.
