Join us for our comprehensive RYA Powerboat Handling Course designed to equip you with the essential skills and background knowledge needed to become a competent powerboat driver. This course serves as the foundation for the International Certificate of Competence (ICC), focusing on:• Low-speed close quarters handling
• Man overboard recovery
• Introduction to driving at planing speed
• Collision regulations
Please note that the course can be taken at an inland or coastal location. It may be conducted in a variety of boat types, both planing and displacement. The certificate issued will be endorsed to show the type of boat in which the training took place which will be inland.
Required Experience:
None! Beginners are welcome. The course can also follow the Level 1 Start Powerboating course if you’ve already completed that.
Course Content:
• Launching and recovery
• Boat handling
• Securing to a buoy
• Anchoring
• Leaving and coming alongside
• Man overboard recovery
Certification:
Students will receive a certificate once they demonstrate self-sufficiency in powerboating, along with an understanding of their limitations and those of the craft.
