Bring in a special 4×6 or 5×7 photo to turn into a beautiful and unique work of art! An old family photo, a favorite trip, a picture of a special occasion – the possibilities are endless! We will then explore adding interesting touches with a variety of materials to add meaning to your photograph. Students will practice a variety of mixed media techniques, and also refinish a frame to hold their artwork.
About the instructor:
Allise Noble is an award winning Michigan artist with a background in fine art and interior design. Though 2D mediums are her first love, she enjoys exploring and combining a wide array of materials. She likes to fill her drawings and paintings with little surprises: clay, fabric, metal, buttons – especially objects she has collected that have a memory or story associated with them. In addition to traditional artwork, Allise enjoys crafting art dolls and upcycling clothing and handbags, all one of a kind. For her “day job”, she teaches art to creators of all ages and abilities at nonprofits throughout the Great Lakes Bay region and is especially passionate about working with artists with disabilities and mental health struggles. Allise believes in the healing power of creativity and is blessed to see every day how creation sparks joy in both the creator and those around them. She believes everyone is an artist and that each person on earth has the ability to do something creative that can touch another person, and it is never too late to begin.
