This is not just a course, it's an experience.
Most self-defense classes focus on physical techniques.
In addition to the physical techniques, our course will work on increasing your awareness so you can defend yourself before the physical techniques become necessary.
Sometimes training fails because stress causes you to freeze — and no one ever trained you to push through it. One of our instructors spent years training service members to perform under pressure in combat. This course applies that same proven approach to the real-world situations women face.
This seminar is designed to help you do exactly that.

- Recognize when something feels "off" and trust your instincts
- Set clear verbal and physical boundaries with confidence
- Recognize and overcome the freeze response — so you can act when it matters most
- Understand how stress and adrenaline affect your reactions

ABOUT OUR COACHES
One coach is a military combat veteran who spent decades training Marines to perform under extreme stress and has over 35 years of martial arts training.
Another coach brings vast martial arts experience along with 30 years of city and federal law enforcement experience — someone who has responded to the exact situations this course prepares you for.
These experiences form the foundation of this course — because the biggest challenge in a real threat isn't knowing what to do. It's overcoming the freeze that stops you from doing it.

MORE TO EXPECT
- Basic movements and striking (we have striking pads for you to hit as hard as you can!)
- Basic easy-to-remember techniques to maintain distance, create space, and defend yourself (there will be opportunity for practical application on attackers wearing protective gear)
- Movement. Some sweat. Slightly heavier breathing. Sense of accomplishment.
(Note: Will be training on mats so we don't wear shoes into the gym or on the mats. Please plan accordingly. We will have a place for you to store your footwear.)
WHAT TO BRING

- Socks (optional: we will be training on mats so we will not be wearing shoes)

We are located in the same building as Bowles Burritos and the Well.
We are on the second floor and entrance is on the back side of the building.
There is very limited parking in our parking lot.
PLEASE DO NOT PARK AT 7-ELEVEN OR AT THE TEMPLE BEHIND OUR BUILDING
There is street parking that is free on Sundays. The best bet for parking is in the parking lot across the street:
