Adult Spelling Bee & Costume Contest

Think you’ve got the spell power to be crowned champion? Or maybe you just want to rock your best costume and enjoy a night of fun! Either way, you’re invited to the Adult Spelling Bee & Costume Contest, hosted by the Literacy Council of Kingsport on Friday, October 25 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at 6ix Grist & Grind (455 W Sullivan St #149, Kingsport, TN).

• Doors open at 6:00 p.m. – grab some food and drinks from the bar!
• Costume Contest kicks off at 6:30 p.m. – bring your A-game and your best costume, entry is just $5.
• Spelling Bee starts at 7:00 p.m. – it's $25 to enter the Bee, and trust us, this will be one for the books! 🐝

• Prizes, of course! We’ve got goodies for the best costumes and the top spellers, plus door prizes throughout the night!

Want a second chance at a tough word or to buy back in after elimination? We’ve got some fun perks available to give you an advantage in the competition:

• Rebuzz Perk ($5): A second chance to spell that tricky word.
• Buzz Off Perk ($5): Stuck? Skip a word and get a new one!
• Stinger Perk ($15): Write out your words on a whiteboard for extra clarity – you’ve got 1 minute to spell each word.
• Return To The Hive Perk ($25): Missed a word? No worries – buy back in and head straight to the Championship round!

Not only will you have a blast, but you’ll also be supporting a great cause. Every dollar raised goes directly to the Literacy Council of Kingsport, helping provide free one-on-one tutoring for adults and children to boost literacy skills in our community. 💛
