Want to learn more about the wonderful world of pollinators? Join Bumble Bee Brigade Coordinator Elizabeth Braatz on a guided walk to look at the world through a bug’s eye through a guided pollinator walk and lecture! We’ll first cover native bee biology, the bumble bee life cycle, and how you can help pollinators in your own homes. Next, we’ll go over some bumble bee identification in the classroom. Did you know that Wisconsin is home to the federally endangered Rusty patched bumble bee? You’ll learn how to identify the Rusty patched and other top Wisconsin species, and how you can share those findings through the community science / citizen science program Bumble Bee Brigade. Finally, we’ll end with a guided walk to look for pollinators and any other interesting bugs that turn up that day.
