The Adult Fine Art Exhibit began in 1951 and is a competitive exhibition for professional and amateur artists, in their respective divisions. The largest exhibit of the year, shown at the Capital Arts Gallery.
The Jefferson City Art Club and Capital Arts invite you to exhibit your artwork at the upcoming Adult Fine Art Show scheduled for May 7 - June 6, 2026. Reception: Thursday, May 14, 2026 5pm - 7pm
There are divisions for amateur and professional artists to display their work. Cash prizes and ribbons in several medium categories will be awarded.

Registration forms are also available at Capital Arts, 1203 Missouri Blvd. in Jefferson City. Registration forms are due by April 27.
Entries will be accepted from residents and artists within 100 miles of Jefferson City. Entry registration is required. No work will be admitted to the show unless we receive your registration by Tuesday, April 27. All artwork must be hand delivered between 9:30 AM thru 6 PM on Tuesday, May 5, 2025.
Eligibility Classifications:
Professional
A. Anyone who has earned an art degree in any area of art from a college, university, or accredited art school.
B. Anyone who earns at least 50% of his/her yearly income from artwork.
C. Anyone who teaches or has taught art classes for reimbursement.
D. Anyone attending graduate school in art.
E. Anyone self-identified as professional. (Once professional always professional).
Amateur
A. Anyone who has had formal training of art in a college, university, art school or accredited correspondence school, but who has not attained any levels mentioned for professionals.
B. Anyone self-taught or having had limited training only through workshops or community art classes.

3. Charcoal/Graphite/Ink
4. Pastel/Chalk/Colored Pencil
6. Watercolor/Gouache
7. Film Photography/Darkroom
9. Digital Art, not Photo-based
10. Artist’s Choice: including Monoprint (no copies), Fabric, Mixed Media, or Egg Tempera (Specify medium)
Entry fee is $15 per entry, discounted to $7 for Jefferson City Art Club members only (not Capital Arts Members).
