In this 6 week hand-building course, students will learn the fundamentals of working with clay to create a variety of projects. Students will learn about the stages of clay and how the clay progresses from stage to stage. Students will learn slab, coil, sgrafitto, carving, and other surface decorating techniques: wax resist, overlay, glaze transfers. Lanterns (luminaries) Bowls, Mugs, Boxes, Vases, & Planters will be our basic foundation.
(8) Projects Demonstrated. This is a beginner to intermediate level class. (Last Session for Advanced Students). Adults Only Please. Class size is limited to 12 students each session. Average Number of Projects Varies based on ability.
Typical students acheive 4-6 Small Projects and 4-6 Large Projects. *Glaze Session on Week 4-6* (Exception for Christmas--We will glaze on sessions 5-6. Pieces glazed early (must be done by December 13), will be returned by 12/22.
