Cultivate your creative side with soft pastels! Adult beginners ages 17+ will learn simple techniques while experimenting with color and various underpainting methods.
Jona Brown will teach color mixing fundamentals and guide students through simple compositions to create expressive studies of color and movement. This hands-on class is perfect for exploring the vibrant, immediate medium of soft pastels.
Ideal for adults ready to start their artistic journey in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment!

👩‍🏫 About the Instructor:
Jona M Brown is a Fergus Falls-based oil painting artist, known for her chicken, butterfly, and kitchen-inspired art. Inspired by unique items or an interesting character, she creates compositions that tell a story. Jona studied oil painting in high school and college. She received a BS in interior design from NDSU with a minor in bus. admin. Jona spent 30 years in retail, running Biffley’s & Bookmark and JCP Catalog. Currently Jona paints murals for the OTCHS, researches genealogy, teaches art and Sunday School, and maintains and restores her historic home. To expand her artistic skills and story-telling ability, she is exploring oil pastels and cartoon drawing.
