Vet for a Day: Adoption Center Superstars is a fun, hands-on kids veterinary camp where campers spend the day at the Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center learning what it’s really like to care for pets and help them get ready for adoption.This engaging drop-off animal camp for kids introduces participants to real shelter work through interactive activities that support the health, happiness, and adoptability of animals in our care. Campers become Adoption Center Superstars, making a meaningful difference while building confidence, compassion, and early veterinary skills.
During this one-day veterinary and animal care program, campers will:
-Take a guided tour of the pet adoption center and learn daily animal care routines
-Assist with basic health checks and mock medical exams under staff guidance
-Learn about pet nutrition, feeding schedules, and how shelters choose food to keep animals healthy and strong
-Meet and interact with adorable, adoptable dogs and cats
