Later, he was promoted to Rear Admiral, where he served as Vice Commander-in-Chief of the Atlantic Fleet, Deputy Commander of the Second Fleet, Deputy Commander of the Patrol Wings Pacific, and Commander of the Naval Reserve Readiness Command, Region Four.
