Adeola Davies-Aiyeloja Closing Reception, Artist Talk & Performance
Date: Sunday, September 13, 2026
Time: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Location: Shoebox Projects at the Brewery Arts Complex 660 South Avenue 21 #3, Los Angeles, CA 90031

Join us for the closing reception of Rooted in an Ecology of Ancestry, a solo exhibition by Adeola Davies-Aiyeloja, featuring an artist talk and live performance.
Before he passed, Adeola's father compiled the historical record of their family, tracing the line back to their great-great-grandfather, an Imam at the central mosque in Lagos. This exhibition is Adeola's answer to that gift, a body of work in cyanotype, textile, enamel, and painting that renders her family constellation as a living ecology rooted in the ancient baobab.
This is the last chance to see the show before it comes down. Adeola will talk through the lineage, the process, and the meaning behind the work, followed by a live performance that brings the exhibition full circle.
Come for the art, stay for the conversation, and be part of the closing.
