Many children with autism are naturally drawn to water. That's why building water awareness, developing essential skills, and creating positive experiences around the water are so important!
Join Swim Angelfish and the Darien YMCA for a FREE, fun, relaxed, and sensory-friendly Adaptive Swim Water Safety Event designed specifically for children with autism, anxiety, sensory needs, motor challenges, or those who simply learn differently.
Led by Swim Angelfish co-founder Ailene Tisser, along with our Swim Whisperers® Certified Instructors, this event will give families an opportunity to experience an inclusive aquatic environment while learning more about water awareness and foundational swim skills.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
• A sensory-friendly pool environment
• Caregivers are encouraged to join their children in the water
• Guidance from Swim Whisperers® Certified Instructors
• An opportunity to explore the water in a supportive, low-pressure setting
• Water awareness and foundational skill-building
Families are welcome to participate together!
