About this Event

Adapting to our Climate: Building Community Resilience in the Forth Valley

Our climate is changing, in the Forth Valley and beyond. While efforts to reduce the scale of impact continue we must, at the same time, build resilience in our communities for the challenges ahead.

Stirling

Join us throughout November in events across Stirling, Falkirk, Clackmannanshire, and the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park to explore what adaptation measures could be used in your community. Together we’ll look at tools, best practice and delve into how they can help us to evidence the need for climate adaptation, implement community-level actions, and find ways to collect and share data across the region. Each session will include a snapshot of the relevant policies and plans in each locality and their relevance for community organisations. There will be the opportunity to provide input and steer the direction of our upcoming Climate Leadership programme as well as more information on how to apply.

Agenda

17:30 - 18:00 Dinner Share food and have a chat

18:00 - 20:00 Adaptation and Capacity Building Discussion and Input

During this session we will explore different climate adaptation themes using a world café style workshop model.

We'll look at best practice and available tools, ask how they can help us to evidence the need for climate adaptation, implement community-level actions, and find ways to collect and share data across the region.

20:00 - 20:40 Understanding the climate plans and policies in your area

Hear a digested version of the key policies and plans for your area and pinpoint their relevance in the discussion.

20:40 - 21:00 Leadership programme

We will share an overview of our exiting new leadership programme offering space for consultation and feedback on any changes you would make to the offering.

This event is suitable for all communities in the Forth Valley area; those involved in community development, climate action groups, community councils or any other local organisation with an interest in climate action in the region. Individuals not representing communities are also very welcome.

The Rugby Club is wheelchair accessible.

Please email [email protected] if you have any food allergies

This event is funded and delivered through The Scottish Government's Climate Action Hub at FEL Scotland.
