Born in Marshalltown, Iowa, Adam Whitehead was raised between Lynnville and Sully, Iowa before moving to Pella, Iowa as a teenager. His father, John Whitehead Jr., made his living in the 70’s by way of Country Music. John’s voice was smooth, with easy listening tones and created an influence for Adam at a young age. A Country Music Association Artist Member and Gibson Product Endorser, ‘AW’s’ song ‘Outlawed’ went viral on TikTok setting the tone of doing things his own way. Heartland Network and the Country Network featured AW ‘On The Rise’ and in the Top 20 Countdown. He has shared stages with Struggle Jennings, Tyler Braden, Demun Jones, Sam Grow and others.
AW performs small town bars, Honkey Tonks, Dance & Pool Halls around the Midwest, predominantly Iowa and Missouri. AW’s plans to perform modern country music were made good with nearly a #1 EP, in 2020. ‘Single Mom' with fellow Iowan and Nashville Recording Artist, Dalles Jacobus, shot up the iTunes and Apple Music Country Album Charts to #2 (#19 All-Genre). In 2022, Adam transitioned blues, with Americana & Rock vibes with the release of “Life and Outlaw Shit”, a fan favorite along with ‘The Way Whitley Done It'. The latter peaking at #45 on the Billboard Top 100 Current Album Chart, #74 on Top Album Sales, and #31 on Breaking and Entering Charts.
