The Mushroom Cure is the true story of how comedian Adam Strauss attempted to treat his debilitating OCD using psychedelics. Critics have praised the show widely: The New York Times writes that it “mines a great deal of laughter from disabling pain,” The Chicago Tribune calls it “arrestingly honest and howlingly funny,” Michael Pollan describes it as “brilliant, hilarious, and moving,” and Time Out New York named it a Critics’ Pick, calling it “a true-life tour de force.”Developed with and directed by Jonathan Libman.
Jonathan Libman is a New York-based writer and director focused on new work. A member of the Actors Studio Playwrights/Directors Unit, he has directed projects featuring Chazz Palminteri (A Bronx Tale), NEA recipient David Libman, Guggenheim Fellow Christina Masciotti, and Dramatist Guild Fellow Nicole Pandolfo. He holds a BFA from NYU Tisch and is a member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC).
