Adam O'Fallon Price, OBJECTS OF DESIRE: Stories
About this Event
Free. Registration requested.
Winner of the Autumn House Press Fiction Prize.
At this event, Price will talk with author Jaime Green about his new story collection that shows us how the aching, often desperate, pull of wanting can unsettle our lives. The characters in this collection are consistently reaching for something more, only to miss the mark in quiet but irreversible ways.
Adam O’Fallon Price is the author of two novels, The Grand Tour (Doubleday, 2016) and The Hotel Neversink (Tin House Books, 2019), which won the 2020 Edgar Award for Best Paperback Original. He received an MFA from Cornell University, and his short fiction has appeared in Harper’s, The Paris Review, Granta, and elsewhere. Born in Los Angeles, he grew up in the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, and Tennessee. He now lives in Carrboro, North Carolina, and teaches fiction writing at his alma mater, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Jaime Green is a science writer, essayist, editor, and teacher, and she is series editor of The Best American Science and Nature Writing. She received her MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Columbia, and her writing has appeared in Slate, Popular Science, The New York Times Book Review, American Theatre, Catapult, Astrobites, and elsewhere. She lives in Connecticut with her husband and son.
