Description of Exhibition:
Although art should be a free form of expression for all, the patriarchy has mansplained, whitewashed, and convinced anyone who isn’t a strraight-cisgenered-man, that we should be quiet and calm.
As artists, we get to make our own rules, so we won’t be silenced. Inspired by the Riot grrrl movement in the early 1990’s, we want to highlight DIY forms of punk activism. You can be included by submitting visual art pieces, or zines. You can submit work that focuses on a movement, a specific person, or just a feeling.
The world is crazy right now (and maybe always has been), but it is so important to come together with other artists, and humans, and work together to bring change.
Please make sure you can commit to the dates & outlined requirements before you apply. Thank you! Please email [email protected] if you have any questions.
Open to:
All artists/ zine creators in the Greater Capital Region (18 years and older), prioritizing BIPOC, Queer, and artists who identify as women or nonbinary
