Presented by Alison Phillips
Thinking about traveling solo or planning a romantic getaway? Join Alison Philips of Travels With Alison through Network Travel for an inspiring presentation on how to make your travel dreams a reality. Whether you’re venturing out on your own or traveling as a couple, Alison will share expert insights on:
- How solo travelers can seamlessly join existing travel groups for companionship and convenience.
- The magic of European river cruises for couples, including scenic journeys along the Danube, the Rhine, and springtime tulip tours through Holland and France.
- A comparison of top cruise lines—Viking Cruises vs. AmaWaterways—to help you choose the perfect fit for your style and budget.
2:30 – 3:15 p.m. – From Curb to Gate: Navigating the Airport
Presented by: Terri Byrne – Passenger Experience Assistant, Edmonton Airport
Navigating an airport can be a stressful part of the passengers’ journey. Please join Terri Byrne with Passenger Experience at Edmonton International Airport. She will share some helpful hints to make the journey from curb to gate an enjoyable and memorable experience. Learn the best ways to prepare before heading to the airport, tools to avoid long security lines, packing tips, transportation options and much more.

3:15 to 4:00 p.m. – Traveling Together: Creating Family Memories Across Generations
Presented by: Shawna Kontzie – Travel the World with Shawna K
Multi-generational travel can be incredibly meaningful—but it also comes with unique challenges. In this session, travel advisor Shawna Kontzie will share how to plan trips that bring parents, grandparents, adult children, and grandchildren together with ease. She’ll explore how to choose destinations and travel styles that accommodate different ages and abilities, and why cruises, guided tours, and all-inclusive resorts often work best. Shawna will also discuss coordinating schedules, energy levels, expectations, and budgeting—whether each family pays individually or grandparents sponsor the trip. Drawing from her own family adventures, she’ll show how thoughtful planning creates stress-free, lasting memories across generations.

MEET THE PRESENTERS
Alison Phillips
World Traveller, Entrepreneur, Wine & Spirits Aficionado. Travel has always been my first love. I was fortunate to turn that passion into a rewarding 35- year career, working with airlines, tour operators, and in education—teaching both travel agents and students, while leading groups around the globe. At mid-life, a new adventure began. I moved from Vancouver to Edmonton and, together with my partner Grant, own and operate a Wine & Spirits store in West Edmonton Mall. Much like travel, the world of wine and spirits offers endless opportunities to learn, explore, and connect. Now, as I step back more from the day-to-day operations of the store, I’m rekindling my travel career—designing unique itineraries for small groups who want big experiences. I draw on decades of expertise to curate unforgettable journeys, while also sharing my knowledge through engaging presentations on the destinations and programs I love to promote.
