Acting for Improvisers with Karen Brelsford [PRQ-I]

A one-day intensive for improvisers who want to bring more grounded, truthful acting into their scenes.

Great improvisers don’t just create funny ideas. They create believable people having real experiences. In this intensive, we’ll explore acting techniques inspired by Sanford Meisner, Second Circle work, and other acting fundamentals to help you slow down, listen deeply, connect with your scene partner, and respond truthfully in the moment.

Through acting exercises, emotional exploration, and coached scenes, you’ll practice:

• Getting out of your head and into the moment
• Listening deeply and responding truthfully
• Making stronger emotional and character choices
• Letting your scene partner affect you
• Bringing more presence and authenticity to your scenes

The goal is simple: to help you create scenes that feel more connected, spontaneous, and alive.

We have community standards, a conflict process, and a COVID prevention policy in place. Agreement/acceptance of these policies is required to participate in BATS classes. Refunds / Transfers / Exchanges

All BATS Improv class registrations are final, and we’re not able to offer refunds or transfers once you’ve enrolled.

Canceled Classes

If we need to cancel a class due to low enrollment, illness, or other surprises, you’ll receive a class credit good through the end of the calendar year. Credits can be applied to any BATS Improv class for which you've satisfied the prerequisites, or gifted to a friend or family member.
