In what will be the 1st local iteration of โThe Great Acro Exchangesโ we are starting the journey in AUCKLAND!
We're thrilled to invite Acro enthusiasts from all corners of New Zealand and the world to join us for a sensational three-day event filled with connection, fun, and acro! Whether you're a local or traveling to join us, here's everything you need to know to make your experience smooth and unforgettable.

For those of you without connections or feel like you need more space, there will be a thread in the event discussion for transport, offers of accommodation and requests for accommodation.
Public Transport to Locations: Google Maps can usually be trusted to provide accurate information but below is a handy guide.
โข To Western Park in Ponsonby: Public Transport from the Downtown Auckland. Catch the GREEN Inner Link Bus going towards Ponsonby and you will be there in no time.
โข To Milford Reserve, Milford (Saturday): The 82 bus route is your best bet, offering an almost direct route from the City and stops within 400m from the Beach.
โข To Mission Bay, Mission Bay (Sunday): The Tamaki Link Bus Route will get you to and from the city with ease and stops right outside the jam.

Located in the leafy hip suburb of Ponsonby, our first Jam location offers a nice large area near the Auckland CBD with sculptures sunken into the ground in a piece called โTIPโ. A short walk will take you to Ponsonby Road home to countless cafes, restaurants and bars for dinner or post jam drinks.
Saturday, 15 Feb 2025 Beach Jam : 10am at Milford Beach Reserve, Milford

Milford Beach is a beautiful quaint park in the North Shore of Auckland facing the dormant volcano of Rangitoto. There are plenty of trees for shade and with-in stonesโ throw from Milford Beach for the ideal cooling off or that photo opportunity. For food there is a Public BBQ area and it is within walking distance to cafes in the town of Milford.

Mission Bay is part of the Eastern Bays of Auckland City. One of the best places to hang out and enjoy a day in the sun and beach close to the city. There is ample space to stretch out and make ourselves at home. Thereโs restaurants and cafes to cater to your hearts content. Belly Worship is a favourite amongst Vegetarians and Vegans and you canโt go past the Oak Barrel for amazing woodfired pizza. TBA - There may also be a gathering of the fire spinners at Night.
Parking Information:
โข Western Park : For those driving there is limited parking along Ponsonby road in front of the jam which at this stage is free after 6pm.
โข Milford Beach : The parking situation can be slightly chaotic but should you arrive early or carpool it shouldnโt be a problem.
โข Mission Bay : Driving in, be early and there are usually parks in vicinity of the jam, there is a free council carpark or failing that along the side streets there are plenty of parking.๏ฟฝBe careful of parking signage and act accordingly.
Restrooms: Restroom facilities are available at each event located on the maps below.
What to Bring: Pack your water bottle, snacks, sunscreen, and of course, your enthusiasm for Acro Mats and props are optional but recommended for your comfort and enjoyment.

Initially intended to be a once off catchup for Adelaide and Melbourne acrobats back in 2016, โThe Great Acro Exchangeโ has evolved into a regular celebration of our local โAcro Jamโ and now for the first time thereโs an international kiwi iteration. Organisers from a hosting city create the โtime and the spaceโ but itโs up to you to bring the magic!
Like a normal Acro Jam, an Exchange is simply a free-from gathering of individuals with a passion for acrobatics who wish to โhangout, play and trainโ - they are not a workshop or a lesson and are completely non-commercial. If you choose to participate, please do so responsibly, respectfully and comfortably within your skill level and that of whoever you work with.
