Two sorcerers of twang, kindred spirits weaving tales through song, bound by a mutual love of country music and the mind-bending allure of psychedelia.
From the heart of Naarm, Acid Arrow emerge as sorcerers of twang, conjuring a sound where outlaw country collides with psychedelic textures. Formed by Brooke Penrose (Saint Jude) and Brett Marshall (Mightiest of Guns), the duo draws on a rich lineage of Australian alt-country and folk-rock, weaving stories steeped in grit and mysticism. The twin songwriters alternate from Penrose's strident tenor and Marshall's husky baritone, exchanging two different approaches to guitar.
Their recently released debut single "Then it Rains" launched with national radio support from RRR/PBS/4ZZZ/2SER and beyond. The duo hail from bands such as Cash Savage and the Last Drinks, Eaten By Dogs and Little John, and are veterans of the national and international touring circuit. The pale clad guitar slingers are currently joined by Rene Mancuso (Cash Savage & The Last Drinks) on drums and Maddy Dutton on bass.
Joining them on the night will be legendary hillbilly, jazz, blues, one man minstrel show, HUCKLEBERRY.
