About this Event
Subscribe to our monthly flower club for 2024 to receive one arrangement per month May through August (4 total).
When you pick up your arrangement, you will learn what's in bloom during four different months. Plus, each arrangement will come with a handy introduction of four or five of the plants included and some information about them. New to 2025, we will provide a list of plants used in the arrangment.
Pickup will be at Allen Centennial Garden, from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Saturday mornings. Dates will be selected by you in April so you have time to plan your summer and don’t have to worry about missing a pick up because of travel plans.
Your purchase supports our Floriculture intern and provides them routine opportunities to develop their skills with different seasonal flowers–arranging and growing. Yes, all the flowers will be grown by us, and many of the show stoppers will come from the garden. Arrangements will vary in size and color scheme throughout the season, but we have no doubt the offering will be a great value!
What about the vases?
We will provide all the vases. As your arrangements tire, we ask that you return the vase when you pick up your next bouquet. There will be a designated spot on the porch of the Ag Dean’s residence in ACG.
Where will I park?
Surface parking near the Garden is free on the weekends! Staying for a garden walk? Parking along Babcock or in lot 34 is usually feasible on Saturday mornings. Or, if you are just picking up your flowers, you’re welcome to pull through the circle drive, grab your vase, and go.
How will I care for my flowers?
Each vase will be filled with what the plants crave–water, sugar, electrolytes, and a slight pH modification to keep bacteria from growing in the water. We’ll provide you with enough mix and instructions so you can refill as needed and keep your flowers hydrated.
What about vase-life?
We do our best to harvest when it's cool, and allow flowers to cool and rest before arranging. That said some flowers last longer than others. The more common cut flowers are common because they have a long vase-life prized by the floral industry. We hope to train on a variety of flowers. Some vases may have a few stems--like cosmo, which may only last for three to four days. Others will use celsia and look great for over a week!
How will I get them home?
We recommend a plastic shoe box or similar type of box that you can stuff with cardboard or recycled bubble wrap, or packing material. Or, bring a friend or family member to serve as your vase carrier if you have a short ride.
These introductions are a fun way to learn a little more about the flowers in a given arrangement. It is also fun to walk the Garden to find a given vase flower in its natural habit!
