Accessibility you can Actually Do: Tools for supporting Disabled People
About this Event
You care about inclusion.
You want Disabled people to feel welcome in your space, your service, or your organisation.
But maybe you’re also feeling:
- unsure where to start
- overwhelmed by conflicting advice
- anxious about getting it wrong
- stretched thin on time, money, and capacity
You’re not alone, and you’re not a bad person for feeling this way.
Accessibility you can Actually Do is a supportive, practical workshop designed for organisations, venues, creatives, and community spaces who want to move beyond good intentions and take meaningful action on accessibility.
This isn’t about perfection, box-ticking, or expensive changes you can’t afford.
It’s about understanding priorities, removing barriers you may not even realise are there, and feeling confident in the decisions you’re making.
What you’ll learn
- What accessibility actually means in day-to-day practice
- Common barriers Disabled people face and how to reduce them
- How to prioritise access when time, budget, or control over your space is limited
- How to respond confidently to access needs and requests
- How to embed accessibility into your culture, not just your policies
All sessions are led by facilitators with lived experience of disability, combining honest conversation with practical tools you can use straight away.
“The T(ART) accessibility training was insightful, practical, and deeply impactful. The trainers brought an impressive depth of knowledge and lived experience, and the course content was rich, thoughtful, and immediately applicable. It challenged us to think more expansively about access while providing concrete tools we can put into practice at Every Body Studio. A genuinely valuable and empowering experience that has strengthened our commitment to inclusive practice.”
