About this Event
Join area dental profesionals for brunch and a dynamic lecture on access to dental care. Speaker Amanda Berthiaume, MsDH, RDH, CDA will discuss Social Determinants of Health (SDOH), how to recognize oral health disparities, the role of the dental staff in improving patient access and experience, how to differentiate health equity vs. equality and explore solutions for better dental care access.
Amanda Berthiaume is a passionate dental hygiene and dental assisting educator, leader, and advocate dedicated to advancing the profession through education and service. She is a graduate of Springfield Technical Community College and earned her Master of Science in Dental Hygiene Education from MCPHS University. She is certified by the Dental Assisting National Board, Inc™
An active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) since 2013, Amanda has held leadership roles, including President of the Massachusetts Dental Hygienists’ Association (MDHA) and currently serves as Immediate Past President. Her contributions to the field have been recognized with prestigious awards, including the 2022 Yankee Dental Hygienist of the Year and the 2024 MDHA Hygienist of the Year.
As an Associate Professor in the Dental Science program at STCC, Amanda specializes in Dental Radiology, Clinical Affiliations, Dental Sciences, and Dental Techniques. She is committed to equipping students with the knowledge and skills to excel in their careers and contribute meaningfully to oral health care and professional advocacy.
