Join us for free admission, extended hours until 9 pm (FIG until 6 pm), and free programming for all ages!Add color and light into the long winter months this Free First Friday with activities inspired by Alfredo Arreguín’s use of bright pigments and lace-like patterns. Create your own mosaic, bead a beautiful animal, and design a Frida Kahlo paper doll while learning about the history of the Tehuana dress. In the evening, join us for Mexican folk music and explore Arreguín’s art in the Old City Hall galleries. Throughout the day we’ll feature pop up tours of the exhibition to learn more about the artist’s practice and inspirations. Don’t miss this celebration of Arreguín’s vibrant art and legacy.

Making Mosaics with Red Barn Art

Frida Tehuana Paper Doll with Amaranta Sandys

Assemble a Frida Kahlo paper doll and learn about the legacy of her beautiful dresses and artistic masterpieces.
Beaded Lizard Keychains

Bellingham Symphony Orchestra Meet a Musician

Kids can meet musicians musician Jackson Stewart-DeBelly and learn about orchestral instrumentsthe bassoon in this fun, kid-friendly performance.
Corazón de Cedro Musical Performance

Join members of Corazón de Cedro for an evening of folk music from the east coast of Mexico. Dancing encouraged!
Artist Tour of Thomas Wood: Under the Inspiration Tree

Join Mandy Turner, Thomas Wood’s studio print assistant, for a personalized tour of Under the Inspiration Tree.
Exhibitions and galleries are open until 9 pm on the first Friday of every month, and the Family Interactive Gallery (FIG) is open until 6 pm.
Headphones and other sensory tools are available at the front desks for guests who require accommodation during their visit.
