Acceptance – An Art Exhibition

Join us for Acceptance, an evocative and introspective art exhibition featuring the intricate and abstract marbling works of Merve Kurt. Taking place from January 3rd to January 30th, 2025, at the Art and Design Library in Central Library, Edinburgh, this exhibition explores themes of mindfulness, resilience, and the beauty of impermanence through the ancient art of marbling.

Marbling, an age-old technique that involves floating paint on water to create mesmerizing patterns, serves as a metaphor for acceptance—a central theme in both Buddhist and Sufi philosophies. Each piece in the exhibition reflects my journey of embracing life’s challenges and transforming them into strength and serenity.

Through my art, I share my personal and professional experiences working with communities facing immense challenges—refugees, children with disabilities, and those affected by conflict. My work is a testament to the power of acceptance as an active, resilient force in the face of life’s unpredictability.
