The West Des Moines Public Library is happy to announce the first Academy of Fandom! Maybe you know everything about Doctor Who but would like to learn about why Buffy the Vampire Slayer is still popular. Perhaps you read a lot of DC graphic novels, but would like to expand your universe. Maybe you don’t know the difference between Star Wars or Star Trek and you’re just curious about what it’s all about. Welcome to the Academy of Fandom! We will have one session per week over six weeks on a wide variety of topics.
Come learn about different facets of fandom, have fun, and hang out with like-minded people! Each presentation will be 30-40 minutes, with plenty of time afterwards for Q&A and discussion.
Wednesdays @ 6:30 - 8:30 PM - Registration required for each!

These programs are for patrons 18 and older. Registration is requested, please. Sessions will be limited to 16 participants due to space. Attendees will receive a special pin-back button at each session and attendees who complete all six sessions will receive an Academy of Fandom Class of 2025 t-shirt!
