Academy at Arts Centre Melbourne

Academy at Arts Centre Melbourne gives high achieving students access to industry professionals to discover how to bring their own identity to their artistic practice.
High achieving Victorian Government School students are invited to join workshops with working artists, inspiring them and developing skills they can take back to school and beyond.
Participants may explore items from the Australian Music Vault or Australian Performing Arts Collective Reveal to see how successful artists bring parts of themselves to the stage. They will also work with staff in The Channel at Arts Centre Melbourne to identify their own strengths.
With workshops covering writing, performance, comedy, acting, singing and playing music, dance and design, there is plenty on offer for the next generation of art makers. Workshop offerings change each holiday period and students are encouraged to attend multiple workshops (subject to eligibility) to develop their creative skills.
As Academy at Arts Centre Melbourne is funded by the Department of Education Victoria, through the Victorian Challenge and Enrichment Series, it is available for Victorian Government School students only. Students’ school reports must show them achieving at least one year above their expected level of achievement in The Arts or English for their age.
