Coastal Canoeists will offer ACA L2 Essentials of River Safety and Rescue Skills courses in June this year. Taught by our Safety and Education Chair, David Bradford, these classes will be held on Saturdays, June 6 and 13th. We will cover basic river safety concepts and skills on shore for a short time in the morning and practice their application in the water for the rest of the day. Entry fee is $60, and must be paid in advance. $10 of that fee will cover insurance from the ACA, the remaining $50 will go to Coastals. Class will be held either on the Maury River, or the James River, in Rockbridge County VA. Location determined by river levels at the time.
