About this Event
This is a free event for local church leaders and workers, GPs, midwives and other related health professionals and anyone else with a heart for responding to the issue of unplanned pregnancy and abortion in Oxford. We are a cross-church group of local Christians who share a vision to respond directly to women and partners facing unplanned pregnancy or struggling with post abortion concerns. Our aim is to set up a compassionate and professional pregnancy counseling service here in Oxford. We are consulting with Choices, a long established Christian charity in North London which supports women through unplanned pregnancy and beyond https://choicescharity.org/ We'd love to share our vision and invite you to join us in prayer, financial support and participation.
The event will include:
Prof John Wyatt, Neonatologist and Christian ethicist, speaking on the legal, cultural and ethical context of abortion in the UK today.
Celia Wyatt and Sheila Willbanks speaking from their experience working in other Christian pregnancy counselling services and sharing the vision.
Consultation: A time for any questions and responses from participants.
A time to pray and consider next steps.
This event has been organised by a steering group which includes Dr Lizzie Ling, Sheila Willbanks and John and Celia Wyatt.
