Join us to learn Aboriginal weaving hands-on in a fun school holidays workshop for ages 5+.
In this one-hour workshop, Aunty Janice and the Southern Elders Weaving Group will guide young and old in Aboriginal basket weaving skills. This session is suitable for ages five and up. Parents are expected to remain with their children during the event.
Aunty Janice Rigney is a Buandig Elder, who has been weaving for more than 40 years since she learnt to weave with reeves from her grandmother as a child. Aunty Janice has been advocating for Aboriginal people and sharing her culture with the community for many years and is a part of the Southern Elders Weavers Group.
