Pour sa 21e saison, ADLF frappe fort sous le thème des forces majeures, prenant de front ces forces imprévisibles et incontrôlables de la nature qui façonnent notre monde, au sens propre comme au figuré.
Lors de cinq concerts de musique de chambre d’une diversité hors-norme, nous explorons les forces explosives de la nature, la réverbération tranquille des ruptures, les tumultes des révoltes politiques et les pouvoirs révolutionnaires des géants artistiques. Telles sont les forces qui remettent en question notre existence, bouleversent nos sociétés et alimentent la création d’une musique intemporelle.
Pour cette nouvelle saison, comme à l’habitude, attendez-vous à l’inattendu! Baroque, classique, contemporain, expérimental, jazz, minimaliste, néo-noir, pop, renaissance et romantique seront joués sur des instruments d’époque et modernes par des artistes locaux et internationaux.
FORCES MAJEURES présente la musique issue de ces forces implacables, celles qui nous font avancer, reculer et qui, en fin de compte, définissent notre existence. Accrochez-vous bien !
18 SEPTEMBRE 2025—
PARIS EN FEU ! ouvre la saison avec les flûtistes baroques Mika Putterman et Aleks Schürmer, accompagnés d’un orchestre de cordes historiques, qui nous transportent dans une ville ardente d’innovation musicale et de bouleversements politiques. Vivez l’intensité enflammée de la révolution à travers la musique de Bologne, Glass, Haydn, Django Reinhardt, Schürmer et Telemann sur des instruments d’époque.
13 NOVEMBRE 2025—
Concert-bénéfice pour ADLF, MADEMOISELLE se penche sur la force tranquille mais constante de Nadia Boulanger et son influence sur le XXe siècle. Mettant en vedette la musique de Bacharach, Bernstein, Copland, Glass, Quincy Jones, et Piazzolla, interprétée par les flûtistes Mika Putterman, Aleks Schürmer et Dylan Pinette et le pianiste Julien Saulgrain, avec une narration de Dominic Champagne.
12 MARS 2026—
Récital intimiste avec la flûtiste Mika Putterman et la star de la guitare classique Steve Cowan, PLEURE-MOI UNE RIVIÈRE se complaît dans la douleur de l’amour, cette force qui nous construit et nous détruit. Avec la musique de Dowland, Bridger, Giuliani, Piazzolla, Pinette et autres.
9 AVRIL 2026—
Le ténor américain Gerard St. Gerard rencontre l’ensemble Hadron, sous la direction d’Aleks Schürmer pour DANCE OF THE DREAM MAN, un concert explorant la musique du maestro surréaliste David Lynch et de son collaborateur de longue date Angelo Badalamenti.
7 MAI 2026—
Pour clôturer la saison, PAGAN POETRY nous plonge dans l’univers brut et indompté de Björk, interprété par un ensemble de flûtistes de renom, jouant sur des flûtes allant du piccolo jusqu’à la flûte octobasse (un géant qui sera entendu à Montréal pour la toute première fois !)

ADLF’s 21st season hits hard with forces majeures—taking on those unpredictable, uncontrollable forces of nature that shape our world, both figuratively and literally.
In five strikingly diverse chamber music concerts, we explore the explosive power of nature, the quiet reverberation of heartbreak, the tumult of political upheaval, and the revolutionary force of artistic titans.
These are the forces that challenge our lives, upend societies and fuel the creation of timeless music. This season, as always, expect the unexpected—baroque, classical, contemporary, experimental, jazz, minimalist, neo-noir, pop, renaissance, and romantic, on period and modern instruments performed by local and international artists.
FORCES MAJEURES presents the music that arises from these powerful, unrelenting forces—those that pull us forward, push us back, and ultimately define our existence. Hang on tight !
18 SEPTEMBER, 2025—
PARIS EN FEU ! opens the season with baroque flutists Mika Putterman and Aleks
Schürmer, and a band of historical strings in a city ablaze with musical innovation
and political upheaval. Experience the fiery intensity of revolution through the
music of Bologne, Glass, Haydn, Django Reinhardt, Schürmer and Telemann
on period instruments.
13 NOVEMBER, 2025—
A benefit concert for ADLF, MADEMOISELLE studies the quiet yet steady force of Nadia Boulanger and her influence on the 20th century. Music of Bacharach, Bernstein, Copland, Glass, Quincy Jones, and Piazzolla, performed by flutists Mika Putterman, Aleks Schürmer and Dylan Pinette, pianist Julien Saulgrain, and narrated by Dominic Champagne.
12 MARCH, 2026—
An intimate recital with flutist Mika Putterman and classical guitar star Steve
Cowan, PLEURE-MOI UNE RIVIÈRE wallows in the ache of love—a force that builds
us up and breaks us down. Music from Dowland, Bridger, Giuliani, Piazzolla,
Pinette and others.
9 APRIL, 2026—
American tenor Gerard St. Gerard collides with Aleks Schürmer’s Hadron in
DANCE OF THE DREAM MAN, with the music of master surrealist David Lynch and
his longtime collaborator Angelo Badalamenti.
7 MAY, 2026—
And to close out the season, PAGAN POETRY plunges into the raw, untamed world
of Björk, performed by an all-star ensemble of flutes—from the piccolo, right down
to the sub-contrabass flute (a behemoth heard in Montreal for the very first time !)
