Join local historian and author Ghlee Woodworth for a downtown walking tour through the fires - famous and infamous - that shaped Newburyport and changed the community forever. Learn about fire buckets, brigades, societies, and firehouses; see how the devastating Fire of 1811 inspired an architectural revolution; visit the neighborhood saved by a battalion of fire trucks during Yankee Homecoming in 1983; and remember a community landmark lost more recently.
