🏁 The Abingdon Soap Box Derby Returns to Main Street!
Get ready for a day of gravity-powered fun as the Second Annual Abingdon Soap Box Derby rolls into downtown Abingdon on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Local businesses, families, youth, and community groups are invited to design, build, and race soap box cars down Main Street for a chance to earn bragging rights, trophies, and prizes. Whether you're competing or cheering from the sidelines, this family-friendly event promises creativity, excitement, and plenty of downhill thrills.
After the time trials, head to The Martha Washington Inn & Spa lawn for awards and a special live performance by Philip Bowen beginning at 2 p.m.

• Youth Division (Ages 8–15)
• Grand Prix (Ages 16+)
