ABC July War!

EVENT INFORMATION:
- For this war, the FPS limit will be at 200. (150 for Zombies modes)
- The war starts at 11 and ends at 4-5. Please arrive by 10:30 so you have enough time to get situated. You can arrive later in the day, you'll just have to wait for any ongoing games to finish before you can join in. You can leave at any point of the day, but please dart sweep before you do.
- Most games we play will be two back-to-back rounds, then 5-10 minutes to rest/reload/hydrate. Make sure you load enough ammo to last you two rounds at a time, or get used to scavenging!
- At around 1:30, there will be a dart sweep then a 45-minute lunch break. There will be at least one more dart sweep before we end at 5:00.
- We provide full-length darts, half-length darts, and Rival rounds for anyone to use. We encourage everyone to use this community ammo - if you decide to use your own darts, please be aware that you likely won't get them back.
- The event is free for all participants, but donations of money or approved ammo are very much appreciated!
Checklist of things to bring:
- Blasters
- Eye Protection
- Water
- Folding chair/table
- Sunscreen or shade if needed
- Dart sweeping aids (bags, grabbers, etc.)
Location: We have the go ahead from Parks and Rec to play at East Cobb Park - if for some reason we run into trouble, Robinson field nearby will be our backup location:
3339 Robinson Rd, Marietta, GA 30068
ABC RULES:
- Blasters must be predominately brightly colored AND have an orange barrel tip.
- Homemade darts and hard tipped darts like FVJs and FVNs are prohibited.
- Eye protection is mandatory on the field!
- Hits to blasters and gear DO count.
- Be a good sport, call your hits.
- If you play, you dart sweep!
- Don't touch anything that doesn't belong to you without asking first!
- All shields are allowed but the size of the shield will affect the type of Blaster you can use with it. Anything larger than a 12”x12” shield must be used with a single-loaded spring-powered blaster or a melee weapon. Anything smaller can use a clip/cylinder fed spring blaster. No battery-powered blasters allowed with shields.
Along with that, any unique ammo type such as Mega, Mega XL, Vortex and Ultra ammo counts as shield-piercing ammo.
When a shield is hit with shield piercing ammo, that player is considered tagged just as if they were hit on their body or blaster.
"Shield bashing" other players is NOT allowed.
- Melee weapons must be entirely made of foam, or fully covered in thick foam on every surface that could conceivably strike a player. Melee weapons cannot be thrown unless otherwise specified in game rules.
~The 3:15 rule~
You start out with 3 lives. When you are hit anywhere on your body or blaster, you:
1. Raise your hand/blaster in the air
2. Count to 15 out loud
3. Walk back to your team or away from action while counting
When you get to 15, you yell "Clear!" to signal you've respawned back in the game. When you've been hit three times, you're out of the round and you go back to the staging area.
Some games will have unlimited lives. To respawn, you just have to touch your team's spawn point or interact with a specified game mechanic, no counting necessary.
PARENTS: If your child does not comprehend/adhere to these rules, we will NOT allow them to play.
Players must be at least 7 years old to participate.
DO NOT DROP OFF YOUR CHILD AND LEAVE THEM UNATTENDED. WE ARE NOT BABYSITTERS.
OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS:
- Eye protection is mandatory on the field.
- Mark your stuff so no one accidentally takes it.
- Players are REQUIRED to dart sweep.
- There will be a designated place to dump unsorted darts after a dart sweep. Please don't dump them into the bins that are sorted already!
- Clean up your trash
- Have fun!
