Abby Stewart is a Senior Respiratory Physiotherapist, PhD candidate researching breathing pattern disorder and Director/CEO of The Breathing Physio . Abby works exclusively with individuals experiencing breathing pattern disorders and related secondary conditions including long COVID, chronic neck pain, anxiety, POTs and asthma.
Her PhD aims to improve the physiotherapy management of adults with breathing pattern disorder. She recently published a scoping review which brings together five decades of research from 21 countries to map how physiotherapists manage breathing pattern disorder globally. She is currently conducting a national survey within New Zealand exploring the current practices of physiotherapists in the management of adults with breathing pattern disorder.
