From Frame to Stage: Exploring Storytelling Through Viewpoints
Join AAIS alumna Lan and invited collaborator Sammi Xinyue Xing, a graduate of Royal Holloway and a frequent collaborator, for a practical workshop exploring how stories can be communicated through images, movement, space and performance.
For this alumni event, Lan has invited Sammi to join the workshop and share their collaborative experience across different areas of theatre practice.
Using the idea of a “frame” as a starting point, participants will experiment with creating still stage images and explore how movement, gesture, spatial relationships, tempo and limited dialogue can shape the way an audience understands a story.
The session will combine a short introduction to the facilitators’ professional practices, practical group exercises, live demonstrations and a short video excerpt from a previous theatre collaboration, offering an insight into how these ideas can be explored in live performance.
No previous experience is required.
