The AAA meets on the second Thursday of every month (except January) at St Luke’s Methodist Church, 16 Greenslade Crescent, Northcote, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Our speaker on 13 August is Thom Linley. Thom is curator of fish at Te Papa Tongarewa, the Museum of New Zealand in Wellington. I understand that Thom is quite new to Te Papa. He will be working on issues relevant to the New Zealand aquarium trade, and is keen to meet people from across the hobby, such as AAA members.
His talk will focus on his scientific work on deep-sea fish adaptations. It has the title: "How to be a deep-sea fish – tips for success in the deep."
We will also have an auction, a raffle, refreshments, and, of course, the chance to socialise with fellow aquarium enthusiasts.
